1. Information We Collect

Account data: your username, email address, and a securely hashed password when you register.
Profile data: display name, avatar, banner, and bio that you choose to add.
Usage data: watch history, watchlist, favorites, ratings, comments, and reviews — used to power features like Continue Watching and personalized recommendations.
Technical data: IP address and browser information used for security (rate limiting, abuse prevention) and basic analytics.

To provide and improve the service: account access, episode progress, lists, and community features.
To personalize your experience: recommendations and the dynamic background are computed from your own activity.
To send transactional email only: verification codes and password-reset links. We do not send marketing email.
To keep the platform safe: detecting abuse, enforcing rate limits, and moderating reported content.

We do not sell your personal data.
Anime metadata is fetched from third-party providers (TMDB, MyAnimeList/Jikan, AniList); none of your personal data is sent to them.
Email delivery is handled by Brevo strictly to deliver the transactional messages described above.
Uploaded media (avatars, banners) is stored on Cloudflare R2.

Your data is retained while your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile; this permanently removes your account and associated personal data.
Session tokens expire automatically and can be revoked from Settings ("Log out all sessions").

We use a single HttpOnly session cookie (waga_session) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Local preferences (theme, dynamic background, language) are stored in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.
